We held our ceremony at Glensheen, and couldn't have been happier. Although on the pricier side, it was gorgeous and well worth the money. The guests also have the option of doing a tour of the mansion after the ceremony (which we thought was a fun perk given that most of our guests were from out-of-town). Reggie, the private events coordinator, was super helpful throughout the process and was like our own wedding coordinator. Overall, great experience and location!
When my husband and I got married I wanted to get married someplace that meant something to us. We both love the beautiful North Shore and the city of Duluth, Minnesota. It is the city where we went on our first vacation together and we both love the area. When we decided to get married in Duluth we started to researching venues and I wondered if the Glensheen Mansion, also known as the Congdon Mansion held weddings. When I discovered that they did I called right away and started planning. The best thing about getting married here is that it is beautiful. The mansion is amazing and historic and everybody loves it. Not only that but the scenery is breathtaking. The mansion is right on the lake and so you have endless picture opportunities for your wedding album. You can have as many people as you want. From a dozen to several hundred comfortably. The price was not any more expensive then any other place that was of similar size. Another great thing about the destination is that it is totally unique. The staff that helps you plan and that is there to assist on your special day are very helpful and knowledgeable. The amenities are that you have places to get ready for the event, a full kitchen, plenty of parking, entertainment for your guests and its a museum. Overall I would highly recommend if you live in the general area that you consider having your wedding at Glensheen Mansion. It will be a event that you and your guests will remember for years to come.
