Gorgeous if you're going for an outdoor wedding. The inside is limited, but the garden is open for lots of people and there is room for tents in case of rain. The steps are a great place to get married, with the house as a backdrop and guest on chairs in the garden down below. The place is kept up beautifully, and there are lots of opportunities for pictures. They are open almost year round (except for the snow covered winter months) and are very accommodating.
What could be more beautiful than a background of a historic mansion for a late-autumn outdoor wedding? Though not the most economical, or offering many amenities, the Salisbury House is a beautiful 16th century English mansion who's terraced garden provides the perfect setting for an outdoor celebration. Whether your wedding is small and intimate or a large event, or anywhere in between, they offer an array of settings just right for you. The wedding coordinator was incredibly helpful in managing the specifics, and asking the questions we would not have thought of. Not only that, but they were also quite willing to meet our requests. Set-up and tear down are included in the cost, leaving the bride and groom free to focus on what is most important on their special day. To have both the wedding and reception in the same location would be a little challenging, but certainly possible. Most importantly, the Salisbury House creates the atmosphere of a lovely English country wedding, and is an incredible background for both memories and photos. The house is also a museum and gallery, and is open to your guests as they wait for your celebration to begin. The Salisbury House is a setting that you will never forget, and you will have the beautiful photos to prove it.
