The Granada Theater is a great venue that has been in Dallas for a long time. Even from the outside, the outside, the place looks really neat. There's a classic marquis listing the events going on, and when you walk inside, it looks great, too. They put on all kinds of events- from classic movie screenings, to concerts, to showing the Mavericks play the NBA playoffs, there are so many fun things to find there. The website is really well made and informative, with a good calendar so you can see what is coming up. Because it's a really popular place, it attracts lots of great well-known bands, so you have a chance to see big acts at a location that is not particularly large. The intimate setting is great for live music. They've shifted their focus from movies to music ever since changing ownership in 2004, and it's been a fantastic addition to the Dallas music scene. Not only do they get great bands, but the crowd tends to be fun and friendly, and not too rambunctious. They also serve fantastic food! I recommend the Granada for going out with friends, catching a concert on your own, or even taking a date.
