About Clarkson Photography

Oddly, my love for photography started with musicals. For as long as I can remember, my family has been involved with community theatre. I took thousands of photos with my beloved pastel pink point-and-shoot, most of them of friends at rehearsals and backstage. It was during a production of Annie in 2008 when I snapped the shot that would shape my life and I began dreaming of a professional camera. At 15, I bought my first DSLR. Shortly after, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and I wanted to find a way to help. That May I took dozens of portraits of people who wanted to contribute to the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life by purchasing a photo shoot. My May fundraiser is still running, and I've donated thousands to the relay, one click at a time. I am now focused on photographing stories, captures a mood, and creating wonder. Timeless, treasured pieces that will be handed down generation to generation.
