Lull Meadows, located just four miles north of Council Grove, offers a unique event space in a quaint country atmosphere. Lull School was built in 1915 and was an original country schoolhouse north of town. When the Council Grove Reservoir was constructed in 1964, the building was moved to its present location about a mile and a half away from its original site. It now sets in a meadow of prairie wildflowers, surrounded by rolling Flint Hills pastures. It is affectionately known around the area as “The Little Red Schoolhouse.”
The upper level of the building features the original one room school, complete with wooden school desks, original text books, chalk board, and stage area. One can hear the ringing of the school bell in the bell tower on special occasions. The lower level can accommodate large groups for dinners and meetings. The newly remodeled kitchen is fully equipped and adjoins the outdoor patio pavilion. This venue is perfect for dinners, meetings, receptions, reunions, parties, and weddings!
