It’s one of the largest outdoor event spaces in downtown Columbia and provides unparalleled views of the iconic Babcock Building’s red dome and the historic slate-roofed dining halls. Steeped in history, The Grove was once home to Camp Asylum, a Civil War prison camp for Union soldiers, adding a layer of rich storytelling to your special day.

From the moment your guests arrive, they’ll be greeted by the grandeur of The Laundry’s Main Level, featuring the heart of the historic building’s arch. The 4,730-square-foot main level features an open layout with soaring ceilings, exposed antique heart pine wood beams and trusses. Exposed brick and sleek concrete floors add to the charm and uniqueness of this space. Restored window openings, clerestory and skylights flood the space with natural light. A bridal suite and dedicated catering room are included with this space. The Laundry directly connects to our half-acre outdoor area known as The Grove.

For a more intimate setting, The Upper Room offers 3,025 square feet of dazzling space, perfect for ceremonies, dinners or parties. Vaulted, accent-lit ceilings give this space a chic and intimate vibe. Architectural features include a large historic clerestory, original steel sash windows, and a restored exterior steel staircase overlooking "The Steam Tunnel Green," the historic Bakery and Segra Park. Steam Tunnel Green is a nod to the large brick steam tunnel that runs under the Laundry Building and once served the building’s initial use as a steam plant. Like the rest of the Laundry Building, this venue space has exposed rustic brick with a mix of plaster, sleek concrete floors, heart pine wood trusses and decking.
