I recently attended a large conference at the W Hotel in Chicago (W Chicago- City Center), Adams street location. The event was hosted by the Chicago branch of a large New York financial information provider. Overall attendance was quite high, at least several hundred attendees. The format was a combination of large aggregated meetings with many people in one room, and then smaller break out sessions with groups of 20-30 people. The venue and service at the W was excellent. The atmosphere and ambiance was professional, but also modern and had a ""cool"" vibe to it. The rooms were clean and well organized, and the staff were prompt and attentive. During the lunch portion of the day, the food was served efficiently and was presented very nicely. There were presentations and ongoing discussions occurring during lunch, but the service and methods of the staff made it so that it was unobtrusive and the discussion could continue. The atrium outside of the main meeting room was also quite nice. There are multiple stories to the atrium, which gives it a very open feel, even though there were a few hundred people milling about. The restrooms were sufficiently clean as well as being well stocked with necessary supplies. Some of the rooms required technology to be used for the presentations. The technology was implemented flawlessly and was seamlessly executed for the presentations. There didn't seem to be any issues with respect to the setups or ongoing usage of the projectors, computers, or networks that were set up. Overall, a very good experience and I would definitely return to the W for another event.
