521 N. Rush street was constructed during the Golden Decade of Michigan Ave. In 1928 The McGraw Hill Building was built, and the classically modern art deco façade still remains.
The building was one of Chicago’s finest collaborations between sculpture and architecture and features innovative bas-relief sculptures depicting the zodiac by Gwen Lux, one of the few women in her field at that time.
