The Villa Roma in Calicoon, NY was used as a venue for a student leadership conference orchestrated by my alma mater. It was a beautiful resort and had every amenity for an overnight stay for conference attendees. I will say, the decor was a little old-school, but it really didn't detract from my overall experience at the place. The breakfast comprised of full continental options with loads of delicious fruit and fantastic waffles (yes, I remember those specifically)! Vegetarian options weren't plentiful, but there were enough options to make do. The attached rooms are spacious and comfortable, and conference attendees who were over the age of twenty-one really seemed to enjoy the bar attached to the building. There were lounges for attendees to hang out in or meet up at, and the area surrounding the building was absolutely gorgeous. Believe it or not, the area had a golf course and a bowling alley within carting distance of the resort. The employees are beyond friendly, and helped me navigate the enormous building multiple times. Admittedly, I'm not too great with directions! The conference areas were big enough to accommodate the whole group (40+ people) with room to spare. Their sound systems also worked out well during presentations. It turns out that the resort has timeshares as well. I'd never heard of Calicoon before I'd gone to Villa Roma, but now, I definitely want to return! It's no wonder they have time-shares. The area really is gorgeous!
