Renters supply all alcohol, we supply all other items including mixes, ice, cups, juice, pop, garnish and Bar-tender (mandatory);
There can be no food preparation in our kitchen due to lack of commercial license, but your caterer can use the kitchen to heat and serve from.

Terms and Conditions
Damage Deposit and Assessment: It is hereby agreed that the booking deposit will be held as a Damage Deposit of $500 prior to the rental. The Leasor will assess any damage following the hall rental, after which, the damage deposit, or part thereof, will be returned to the Leasee. The leasee shall assume the cost of repairing the damage or replacing equipment if damaged or missing. If the Barn is left dirty beyond “reasonable use,” an extra charge will be taken out of the damage deposit. Any litter left outside the building is the responsibility of the Leasee. It is also the Leasee’s responsibility to inform their caterers that they are required to leave the kitchen clean and orderly and any wine glasses used for dinner service/wine on the table must be washed in the dishwasher and returned to cupboard, or part of the damage deposit will be deducted to pay for the cleaning. It is also the responsibility of the leasee to return the tables and chairs to their original position. Lights are not allowed to be removed or altered. The Barn must be cleaned and vacated the day of the rental. Next day clean up is not an option. This also applies to caterer’s equipment etc. If any of these rules are not followed, the damage deposit will not be returned.
Bartenders: Shawnessy Community Association requires that you hire our Bartender(s). They arrive prior to the bar opening and remain until everyone has left and will lock the building.
Liquor Permits: The Leasee must obtain a liquor permit if liquor is being served. ALL AGLC REGULATIONS SHALL BE ENFORCED, AND THE PERMIT MUST BE POSTED AND SHOWN. No alcohol may be brought into the venue after bar opens. No homemade alcohol of any kind allowed. No Kegs allowed. No signature drinks. All alcohol consumed on the premises is to be purchased from a licensed liquor store. No drink tickets allowed.
Responsibilities:
·The Leasee is responsible for all users, guests, persons in relation to the use and occupancy of the property. The Leasee is charged with the responsibility of supervision. Any fines levied if a guest or leasee pulls the fire alarm, by mistake or intentionally is the responsibility of the leasee. Parent(s) or Guardian(s) must supervise youth and their activities. If Leasee wishes to obtain insurance, they must do so at their own expense.
·Please be advised that due to the location of the facility being in a residential area, we ask that your DJ respect our neighbours by reducing the sound volumes after 11:00 pm. Our community bartender will advise you if the volume is too loud. If a complaint should arise due to the volume of the music, the rental group will be responsible for the complaint and any fines associated with the complaint. THE BAR AND MUSIC WILL CLOSE NO LATER THAN 1:00 AM AND CONSUMPTION IS UNTIL 2:00AM. The Leasee shall have the hall returned to the way it was found and vacated no later then 2:00 am. All tables and chairs must be returned to the original place. No flame candles allowed.
·The Leasee will adhere to all current “City of Calgary “Non-Smoking Policy” and “Noise Bylaw” as well as all Municipal, Provincial and Federal laws related to the use and occupancy of the property. SMOKING or VAPING IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING per City of Calgary Bylaw 57M92.
If the Leasee should need to cancel the “non-refundable” original deposit of $250.00 may be refunded only if the date can be re-booked.
