It was a company holiday party for an expected 35 people. The Hart House organizer, Sonja, was a pleasure to work with & showed an abundance of patience when dealing with my many questions & multitudes of emails. Sonja had great suggestions, with clear & thorough responses; her calm demeanor was comforting & helped to ease many of my party planning anxieties. The venue is delightful, cozy corners, fireplaces with soft places to snuggle on the hearth, the view through the French doors of the geese on the lawn with the misty lake behind, was exactly the ambiance I was hoping for. The menu selection was thoughtful & thorough; they were easily accommodating to vegan, vegetarian, celiac, pescatarian or any allergen. The meal I selected for our event was a buffet - I was impressed! It was presented beautifully in easy to pick up portions, everything was more than warm enough & the buffet was well attended & maintained. The meal was FANTASTIC, the bread was fresh, the salads were crisp & although the turkey ballitone & stuffing were delicious, the Steelhead trout stole the show! I chose the buffet because I couldn't decide which dessert was going to be best & they did not disappoint. I tried all four options & am still unable to decide which was best. The wine list was abundant, comprehensive & well priced. The staff greet you at the door with warm smiles & easy gestures. They were charming, discreet & ever ready to be of assistance. The bartender was attentive & jovial, the wait staff were smooth as silk, gliding between tables & guests with quiet grace, the concierge was lovely, courteous & really kind. At the end, a good time was had by all. Many in attendance had never been to Hart House before & were so pleased with everything, they vowed to return. I happily, confidently & absolutely recommend this venue, its food & its staff. I personally will certainly return & our company would rebook for another event, without hesitation. Cilanne Colorworks
