If you are looking for a beautiful view and nice venue this is the place to have your wedding. Its right under the Brooklyn Bridge and it has a view that is worth a million dollars. The food is great and the Terrance Room is a nice size for a nice warm wedding. They have a great staff and not to mention the food. I had chicken with veggies and mash potatoes. they were out of this world. I would would recommend this venue to anyone in NYC.
Although I wanted a chic Manhattan wedding reception, my husband's family is all from Brooklyn, and they insisted that we have it someplace there. I was reluctant to agree, until I saw the River Cafe up close. It really is an incredibly unique location (under the Brooklyn Bridge), and unlike you might think, you can't hear the noise or traffic from the bridge at all. The view is alright during the day, but nothing special. But when twilight hits and the city lights turn on, it's the most breathtaking place in the world. The view is so spectacular. You can see the water and the skyline, and it makes you feel like you're floating in the river. It's incredibly romantic. I would give it five stars for this alone. If you're thinking of a reception here, make sure you do it at night. However, the food was also incredible, some of the best I've ever had in the city. Their menu is expansive, so it was easy to cater the wedding with something for everyone in attendance, and their menus are also very customizable. (We had appetizers and a choice of a sit-down meal, followed by a dessert buffet.) The service was above average, but not excellent, with mostly attentive and professional servers. They seemed a little spacey and not very interested in what was going on. But the atmosphere was so lovely, we barely noticed! Even better, the price was very, very fair, especially considering the view and everything that we received. Overall, I'm very impressed and would recommend this to anyone.
