The DUMBO Loft is an excellent wedding venue in Brooklyn. It's located right next to the Manhattan Bridge, and you can definitely hear trains when you're outside, but it's pretty quiet on the inside. The location makes it a great choice for wedding pictures under the bridge or at the nearby park. The management was easy to work with, and the venue was only $3000 for 12 hours. Plus, they have buffet tables and a sound system you can use. The style is warehouse chic, with rough-hewn beams and lots of wood. There's metal paneling on the walls. My only gripe is that there's no kitchen whatsoever, so the caterer has to build their own, which is a bit awkward since the only area available is next to the bathrooms. From what I heard, the building is working on adding kitchen facilities in the future. There's no in-house catering, but it's easy enough to find a good caterer in Brooklyn. The location can make it a bit tricky for guests (since we don't drive here, you have to walk). So, consider renting vans or buses to transport your guests if the ceremony is off-site (as we did). The F train is kind of nearby, but that can be inconvenient for the out of town guests if they're not comfortable with the subway. All in all, the venue is a great value in an awesome neighborhood. Book early if you're planning a summer wedding, though, since DUMBO is becoming more popular.
