The 1896 is a one-of-a-kind not to be missed 120 year old landmark. It's hand painted bespoke series of soaring brick-lined warehouses adjoin a towering outdoor Courtyard with 100' promenade. Featuring multiple Staging Areas with 37' ceilings and an 80' long run of clerestory windows, these boundless and distinctly tailored warehouses feature gorgeous greenrooms and a series of celebrity-worthy hair and make-up rooms. This space makes you catch your breath with this and more within one spectacular yet intimate 12,000 square foot complex. Comprised of 3 different and each wonderful interior warehouses linked to a beautiful outdoors space encountered through your very own runway.. It's showmanship is like none other. The 1896 borders the popular Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. Located in the heart of a throbbing nightlife-filled warehouse district. Think off-the-beaten path meets awe-inspiring architectural Ta-Dah! with a surprisingly refined manner. The 1896 has served as an active filming stage for the TV, Film and Fashion industry for nearly 20 years, well before Bushwick's boom. From it's early years as the setting for the infamous 'Crack-cident' episode of Girls to the blessed final resting place for David Bowie's last video 'Lazarus'. The 1896 can be seen most recently in HBO Max's series the 'Penguin', Town & Country magazine with Katie Holmes and Madonna's Vanity Fair Italia career retrospective issue. Events can be scaled from one warehouse to all three including the outdoor courtyard and promenade. Preference given to All Access Events/Shoots (3 warehouses + Outdoor Courtyard/Promenade) requiring large scale adaptable space. However, intimate and private events are also very welcome. All furniture, décor, props and expendables within this location are available for rent through our +1600 piece on-site prop house, Primate Props!
