The Brooklyn Bridge Marriott in downtown Brooklyn, New York, offers the only large, convention-type facilities outside of Manhattan. The area around the hotel is developing quickly, and recently, more hotels have opened with their own meeting and event space. The nice thing about the Marriott is that it's in a great central location, near to shops and restaurants. Also, there's parking underground and gym facilities. I believe there's even a pool nearby to use. If you're planning a large event, it's a good choice for the convenience factor. Also, they offer pretty good group rates/discounts. The meeting rooms are pretty spacious. They offer their own catering for events. I had typical American-style breakfast fare, and it was fine. The hotel configuration is a little confusing, since you have to go up the escalator to get to the ball- and meeting-rooms. That's just the nature of location and space. They're able to accommodate small and large groups, with breakout rooms available. I don't think I'd want to host my wedding at the Marriott, but I'd sure have a convention here. Several years ago, the Little People of America held their annual conference at the Marriott, so it can take care of large groups. The staff is quite pleasant and willing to help, even the doormen and porters (they can arrange for cab/car service if you need it). Since Brooklyn is always so busy, I'd definitely recommend booking any type of event as early as possible so you get the best choice of dates and prices!
Good hotel, One stop from Manhattan and served by the A, C and F Subway lines through Jay Street/Borough Hall stop in back of the hotel, as well as the 2, 3, 4, 5 and W in Court Street Station, a half block across the street from the front of the hotel. it is walking distance from Lower Manhattan across the bridge with spectacular scenery, as well as the nearby Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope. There's also the cheap parking at $18 for guests. It has more facilities than the Manhattan location, the conference rooms are spacious and comfortable, modern accommodation, warm and friendly, dedicated professional staff. Concierge was great in recommending restaurants. During the 2 day conference there, we were provided with breakfast and lunch, around the clock services. Overall it is a great hotel with a state-of-the-art meeting facilities. They have 30 meeting rooms 30,000 sq ft of total meeting space, largest meeting room is Grand Ballroom with maximum meeting space of 18,105 sq ft and maximum seating capacity of 2,010, maximum of 25 breakout meeting room(s) exhibition space on-site. and the meeting rooms are equipped with Wireless internet. They have a step by step planning guide through their website to help you plan your events smoothly. This hotel has the feel of your typical Marriott Hotel & Resort, however put the tall ceilings, marble floors, spacious rooms, nice amenities etc. against what you get in the city and you'd really come to appreciate this place..
