This stately Romanesque hall can comfortably accommodate up to 130 guests with room for a small band and dance floor, or up to 175 for dinner. Capacity for a lecture or cocktails is a comfortable 200. Towering cathedral windows lead up to the polychrome wood ceiling, reclaimed from the construction of the Lexington Avenue subway, and a rare sixteenth-century bas-relief fireplace anchors the space. The adjacent Mark Twain Room is included in the rental fee.

Formerly the library, this elegant and warm room with glowing wood paneling looks out onto the terrace and conifer slope, and can accommodate up to 45 people for a seated conference, meeting, brunch, or dinner, and up to 75 for a cocktail party. Built in 1843 in the style of an English country residence, Wave Hill House, a former estate house on Wave Hill’s 28 acres, has been home to such luminaries as Mark Twain, Theodore Roosevelt, Arturo Toscanini, and two British ambassadors to the United Nations.
