I got married a year and a half ago at the New York Botanical Gardens. It was truly my dream wedding. We initially really wanted the wedding here because it allowed for an outdoorsy/scenic photog. spread while still being close enough for all of our friends and relatives. We got pictures that one might see from a vintage farm wedding...in the Bronx!! The staff was all so wonderful in making sure everything I asked for was accomplished. The reception and dancing was all done inside but the actual ceremony was inside. The weather was supposed to be 50% chance of rain but I wasn't worried about it. When things started looking grey the staff seemed just as concerned about things as my family and I, which I really appreciated. Fortunately it didn't rain, but I felt really prepared and confident if it had. Not that the indoor portion would have been unattractive by any means...The venue accommodated 200 guests and all of the extras we requested- IE flowers, food and some pretty aggressive dancers! Have I mentioned how GORGEOUS this place is yet? Though we had a great photographer, there was no way he was going to get a bad shot. Another thing that really stood out to me was their willingness to let my husband and I see other events that weren't our own to get a better idea of what we really wanted. I couldn't have asked for more from this place. They are true professionals who know how to make a girl's dream wedding happen!
The best thing about the wedding I attended at the New York Botanical Garden were the views. The rental included the ballroom and Garden Terrace room. It's a very classy space and is great fun in the summer. They provide a tent on the lawn that serves drinks. They also provide fantastic floral displays on the tables in the terrace. I remember standing on the lawn and drinking cocktails in during the sunset. It really is a remarkable place to have a wedding, but I'd only recommend it in warmer weather.
