Surprise hidden gem in downtown Boston's South End, wonderful space for a cocktail party of 50 or 150 or more. Lots of character, spacious, a little-known place that has a terrific party space.
I recently planned a major fundraiser (Boston Jerkfest) for a non-profit cultural organization at this venue. It was an ideal venue because we had the opportunity to use both the in-door space and out-door space and we were able to offer a variety of activities for different audiences. We offered live music, a Rum and Brew Tasting, and food and cultural craft vendors sold their wares. The atmosphere was fun and visitors were engaged. The staff of the venue is extremely professional and responsive to all needs. This was the first year of holding this event on the site and it we were able to accommodate about 1,000 people per session for two session. I highly recommend this venue for your fundraisers, weddings, or corporate events. We would love to use the venue again next year.
We had a great event for the fourth year in a row in the auditorium for 200+ volunteers for Generations Incorporated. It is a bright and beautiful space that allowed us to have a sit-down breakfast for 200 people comfortably. The staff are incredibly helpful and gracious. I highly recommend this venue.
If you are looking for a great space for 300 or less, you should definitely check out the Ben Franklin Institute of Technology. They have a lovely lobby space for the cocktail reception and their auditorium makes a wonderful, intimate ballroom. We brought in Max Ultimate Food to do the catering and overall design of the room. We brought in Derek Wiles from Event Illuminations to light up the room so it looked incredible. We brought in PSAV to provide a fabulous onstage screen, projection and sound systems. Parking for 90 is diagonally across the street at Atelier. What more could you ask for? It was a special night and a lovely, hidden gem!
Boston HERC celebrated their Passport to College 2013 Closing Celebration at BFIT and it was wonderful! The venue has a warm and cozy feel to it and the staff was very helpful and supportive! It would have been perfect if there was parking available for our students and families, but everyone managed to park in affordable nearby places. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to have a great time and have everything to go smoothly! Great venue!!!
LISC Boston recently celebrated their 30th Anniversary Event at the Benjamin Franklin Institute. We had over 400 people that attended and enjoyed this beautiful space that both held a cocktail reception in the lobby and a program in the auditorium. Our guests were very impressed with the space, and I am very happy to have been a part of making people aware of this wonderful space. The Benjamin Franklin Institute staff was very helpful in every step of the planning. If you haven't seen the space, make an appointment and go see the space. It is located in a very convenient location of Boston and is a very beautiful space.
The Benjamin Franklin Institute is one of Boston's hidden gems: the perfect place for a medium-to- large party or event. It offers a spacious ballroom with a terrific stage and ample space for serious dancing as well as tables, chairs, bar and food setup. And our guests loved being in a space infused with the wisdom of Benjamin Franklin depicited in a historic mural in the lobby. The best part, though, was the competence and responsiveness of the Institute's on-site staff. They helped us to plan and execute a fabulous event. Our experience certainly warrants a 5-star rating.
I recently catered a reception (450 ppl.)for a large non-profit organization.BFI Lobby and Auditorium worked very well for both the Reception and the Program. I highly recommend the site for its proximity to the business areas of Boston. Mimi Deignan Jules Catering
