Terms and Conditions

FEE / PAYMENT $40 as a retainer is required to reserve the date. The remaining balance is due on or before wedding. If the remaining balance is not paid by the due date, my/our reservation may be canceled and all money previously paid forfeited. All payments are due by the dates specified in agreement. If payments are late, we reserve the right to rebook the time you have reserved and to retain any retainer received. I/We agree that if I do not pay the final balance by the wedding date and officiant agrees to proceed, that I/We will be responsible for an additional $25 late fee as well as the overdue balance. MARRIAGE LICENSE I/We understand it is my/our responsibility to obtain a marriage license and be familiar with the waiting period required. I/We agree to bring the wedding license to the Rehearsal (or the wedding if there is no rehearsal) and to have someone present it and the final balance to Melissa Ashmore when she arrives for the Rehearsal (or the wedding if there is no rehearsal). I/We understand that failure to have these legal documents means that the wedding officiant cannot legally perform the ceremony and is under no obligation to do so. The officiant may at her discretion perform a symbolic ceremony, which will have no legal merit, and perform another ceremony in private for the couple once the legal documents are presented, for an additional fee. I/We will consult with the local court or city clerk to find the exact requirements for the client's area. I/We will make the officiant aware if we believe our legal standing for marriage in the locale can be questioned or if we are wishing for a vows renewal, a solely religious ceremony, life event ceremony or another symbolic ceremony. CANCELLATION POLICY Either party may cancel with 15 days written notice. Electronic communication combined with personal conversation may substitute for written notice. I/we agree that if I/we cancel our reservation without 15 days written notice, any reservation deposit will be forfeited. In the event of natural disaster or community-wide emergency, Running Reverend retains the right to cancel without compensation fees due to the client. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY I/We agree that I/We will NOT hold Melissa Ashmore or Running Reverend financially responsible for anything that happens during the service or in relation to her officiating services. I/We agree to resolve any issues without legal action against Melissa Ashmore or Running Reverend. I /We agree that I/We will NOT hold Melissa Ashmore or Running Reverend responsible for any other damages or loss beyond the maximum compensation fee (1% of the clients personal expenses related to the wedding) and the return of all fees paid in advance for her wedding officiating services if she does not deliver the services and does not provide another officiant to serve in her place.
