I hired Monika Broz to take photographs at my wedding. My then-fiance and I specifically looked for someone with a photojournalistic style. We had been guests at too many weddings where the photographer forced “standard” wedding photograph-type situations to occur (“you line up there”, “get closer together”, etc.) and we didn’t want that experience for our guests. We wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and for the photographer to capture that pure joy and energy. Once we saw her portfolio, we knew Monika was that one. There are many other photographers that are cheaper than Monika, but her customer service, talent, and attention to detail reflect in the magnificent pictures she takes. Her services were one of very few splurge items we had at our wedding, and I am so pleased we made that choice. Monika and another colleague came to the wedding and reception location, and were completely unobtrusive, but were somehow everywhere at once. They got so many special moments from so many different angles, I found it incredible that they themselves did not show up in their shots! The addition of a second photographer was incredibly helpful with pre-ceremony shots. We could have the “boys” being photographed at the same time as the “girls” without having to delay the festivities. With her services, Monika provided an album of 100 4x6 photos of your choosing, 75 wallets, and an 8x10. I think she threw that last part in as a thank you to us. A couple of years after our wedding, we decided to buy the digital rights for the photos. The end result of that was a DVD of over 500 photos from our wedding, and I love every one of them.
