Marie is a an amazing florist. She designed all the arrangements for my sister's wedding. When it comes to flowers, I don't really have much experience or point of reference. Usually, they look nice and smell nice, and that's enough for me. But, after seeing the pieces that Marie put together for the wedding, I can say with certainty that the arrangement of the flowers and other plants in the setting can really add personality to a room and help tell the story of the event. Marie did not hesitate to push the conversation beyond mere color selection and flower choice. Given that my sister was planning a relatively non-traditional affair with a pretty distinct texture and tone, she was eager to engage around how details could serve the broader purpose. We spent most of that conversation talking about figs, artichokes, fiddleheads, and nouveau fonts. There was little doubt that Chestnut & Vine was going to be the right fit for us. And, the best part is that the objectives we discussed during that first meeting were never lost. Getting to visit with Marie in her studio is a real treat. She really worked with us, made us feel confident that we were getting her full attention, and was unafraid to tell us when an idea was going in the direction of ""cool"" or ""I don't think so."" Needless to say, we were so pleased with the final arrangements! The centerpieces in the reception had a certain harmony with each other and the rest of the room, even though they were distinct from each other. The floral additions made to the chuppah were beautiful, and were magically transported over to the escort card table and bar after the ceremony, which was a real treat. All our friends and family mentioned that they really loved wearing their corsages (even the dudes!), which included all sorts of beautiful orchids and grasses. Most importantly, the bride's bouquet was perfect. If you get the chance to work with Marie from Orchid Florist, do not hesitate! She did wonders at my sister's wedding to really capture the mood and special moment (the flowers look awesome in the photos and really give a sense of the type of event that was held). Highly recommended!
