Just used the Padre Hotel for a recent business meeting and was very pleased with the facility, service and staff. I would seriously recommend it to anyone needing a local business meeting place. The Padre has a rich history in Bakersfield. Most recently, the hotel has taken down a missile that was pointed directly towards city hall. The previous owner had a few disputes with city hall and thought the missile would make his feelings well known. It stayed for many years, but is now gone. Besides this eccentric history, the Padre is a fine hotel and has an updated look and facilities to accommodate even the most tech savvy of client needs. We were able to connect projectors, computers and our sound system with the Padre's employees help and present a state of the art conference. The staff is very friendly with multiple hosts and event staff to accommodate not only our needs, but our clients needs as well. The rooms were freshly redecorated and the seating, tables were well cared for and new. The food served was tasty and well thought out. Full kitchen service as well as full bar are part of this hotels selling points. I just can't say anything bad about the Padre. The history of the hotel can draw a crowd on it's own as local history has been made, but your sure to get clients in and talking and that's what business meetings are about. Here's hoping you try it for your next meeting venue.
