We recently had our wedding on 7/4/23 at KMFA! This is a new venue and the headquarters of KMFA, the classical music station of Austin, so you’d be helping a non-profit too if you use it. They have a wonderful modern space only 4 min driving distance from the east 6th entertainment district. The building has a downstairs lobby for waiting guests that we staged with our guest book and champagne. The upstairs has a lobby/bar area for cocktail hour, a sound garden room with fun instruments-turned-art to play with, a windowed conference room, terrace, and a large studio for the reception with really great lighting effects that you can project. We were going to have our ceremony on the terrace but it was so hot we moved it to the conference room and bought a drape and stand kit for the backdrop. We donated that kit to the venue for future events/couples to use if they choose KMFA. The venue manager Stacey and her assistant Barbette were super helpful and also helped with timing of different wedding activities and there was no need for an outside day-of coordinator. They kept it running! We also had use of their 6 round tables, 6 rectangle tables, and six cocktail tables. The cocktail tables came with linens. I bought black linens for the rest and donated them to KMFA for future events/couples to be able to use if they choose KMFA. We had the venue for I think 12 hours for 3000. We then paid an optional $240 fee to have security there. I would highly recommend this venue! We have zero regrets at all and it is a great way to get an urban wedding at an affordable price with helpful and detail oriented staff! BTW they allow you to bring in your own caterers! If they aren’t on their preferred vendors list, they will need to do a walk through. If you don’t want to do that though, they had a few very affordable preferred vendors on their list :)
