The excellent things about this hotel: It is very clean. The friendly greeting from the front desk staff EVERY time you walk by, the spacious design and wonderful decor, the very well appointed guest rooms, and the great indoor pool and fitness center. The OK things about the hotel: Housekeeping once you get there. They would forget the coffee in the room about every other day. This hotel is very centrally located and it is easy to get everywhere from here either with public transport or with your own car. I would definitely stay here again and look forward to another visit.
We attended a wedding at the Emory Conference Center and Hotel. This venue sits in a serene woodsy setting that is a huge surprise to find right in the middle of a busy city like Atlanta. I believe there are over 25 acres of woods included in this property. We were blown away by the beautiful architecture and plantings... all inspired by the designs of legendary architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. The rooms were serene, clean and calming and the staff was certainly accommodating to our every need. We stayed in a suite, but were able to see a friend's standard room. Both were truly lovely. The onsite dining was also nice as was all the food catered for the wedding (not sure if this was done by the center or an outside caterer). Best of all, this location is just a short 15 miles from the airport and 6 miles from the heart of downtown Atlanta's shopping and tourist spots. It was also enjoyable to tour beautiful Emory University and take in the culture provided by one of the nation's best university campuses. The entire conference center is certified as an Atlanta Green Space receiving the city's Green Seal of Approval for environmental stewardship. After the wedding, we stayed an extra day to attend a Hawks basketball game and tour the World of Coke exhibit. The city and shopping opportunities were so close and easy to access. A truly enjoyable weekend on all accounts. We would definitely visit again.
Pleasant 3 night stay at the conference center which is a nice facility. The lobby is very nice, mission style stone hearth with wooden and slate floors. The staff are nice and helpful. My room was large with 2 double beds and a big bathroom but it smelled a bit stale if I turned the ac off during the day. There are 3 computers with internet access and a printer in the lobby which was very helpful, and there is free wi-fi in the lobby too - there is a charge to use it in your room. Enjoyed room service breakfast one morning which was very nice ($10.95 for hot breakfast including coffee) but I was surprised by the compulsory 21% gratuity plus $2 delivery charge. Went to the restaurant for the buffet breakfast the other mornings which was $12.95 and a good selection; fruit, cereal, yoghurt, hot dishes (eggs, bacon, grits etc.) bagels, pastries, juices, coffee. The location is good for visiting Emory or nearby Decatur, Buckhead, Virginia Highlands etc. and accessible to downtown, midtown and the airport. It was nice and quiet. Paid about $140 + tax on a reduced rate, not sure I would consider it good value at a higher rate but would still recommend.
