Zingerman's provided some of the best food I've ever eaten at any business gathering. The catering service is actually an extension of Zingerman's Delicatessen, which has a sterling reputation as both a deli and a general purveyor of fine foods. Another fine thing was that they were willing to provide a bartender to serve the alcohol that we had already brought, which helped us save on overpriced alcohol you usually see at a bar at gatherings like these. The food itself was an absolute joy, it wasn't anything super fancy, but it was cooked perfectly, and in the end, that's what counts. The Deli has a reputation for friendly staff, and their catering crew are no exception. Everyone was smiling and was extremely friendly. There wasn't a single eye rolled or exasperated sigh to be detected, these people loved their jobs and were sure to make sure that everyone was well looked after. As for planning the event, it was like a dream. Their organizer, Terra, was a delightful woman who did everything in her power to make us happy with the way the gathering was going. It was just a simple business retreat, but she treated it as if it had the significance of a wedding. If I didn't feel so guilty about letting her do everything, she would have. Terra and her crew were willing to rent just about anything out and could have easily taken care of the entire ordeal without me needing to life a finger. Overall, Zingerman's did a fantastic job and I'd be more than happy to hire them again for any gathering of any kind.
