“My goal is to convey the joys of life as expressed in the moments of its most visually symbolic day. I am inspired by you.” Maurice Ramirez has been a professional photographer for nearly ten years. He has worked as a Chief Photographer and Photo Editor at MTV Networks, as well as having been a freelancer for countless music, fashion, and news publications including Rolling Stone, Spin, People, San Francisco Business Times, the San Jose Mercury News, the Marin Independent Journal, AsianWeek, and Fortune Magazine. In addition to his editorial experience he also shoots assignments for advertising, corporate, and fashion clients. This varied background has instilled a visual storytelling ability, creative standard, and technical skill possessed by relatively few in the wedding niche. His formal training includes photojournalism at San Francisco State University, Eddie Adams Barnstorm, and Poynter Institute’s Visual Edge. He also instructs workshops on lighting and beauty photography. Maurice Ramirez is an award-winning member of the Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area (PPGBA), Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), as well as the Wedding Photojournalists Association (WPJA).
